Royal Enfield Opens ‘Journeying Across The Himalayas’ 2025
Royal Enfield launches the second edition of its Himalayan cultural festival in New Delhi, celebrating heritage, arts and mountain communities.
New Delhi [India], December 5:
Royal Enfield Social Mission inaugurated the second edition of Journeying Across The Himalayas, its annual multidisciplinary festival dedicated to celebrating and safeguarding the cultural and natural heritage of the Himalayas — the brand’s spiritual home for more than seven decades. The opening vernissage evening, held on December 4 at Travancore Palace, brought together artists, mountain communities, cultural practitioners and audiences to honour Himalayan narratives through art, performance, dialogue and shared experience.
Rooted in the 2025 curatorial theme Ours To Tell, this year’s festival opened with remarks by the organisers, followed by the launch of The Great Himalayan Exploration – The Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Eastern Himalayas, a collaborative initiative between UNESCO and Royal Enfield. The unveiling was led by Bidisha Dey, Executive Director, Eicher Group Foundation, and Tim Curtis, Director and Representative, UNESCO Regional Office for South Asia. They were joined by folk music artist Kuvelu Tetseo (Nagaland), Kunzang Wangmo (Ladakh), and rider-researcher Maral Yazarloo, each representing unique voices from the Himalayan region.
The evening continued with a dialogue titled Ours To Tell: Reclaiming Himalayan Narratives, featuring Chiki Sarkar, Jamling Tenzing Norgay, Kelly Dorjee, and Rigzin Wangmo Lachic. Performances by the Tetseo Sisters, Jungle Vibes, and a special collaborative set by Joi Barua, Lou Majaw, and Rudy Wallang provided a dynamic cultural crescendo. A curated dinner and cocktail experience by Chef Doma Wang beautifully concluded the evening.

Performance Spaces Inspired by Himalayan Aesthetics
The festival’s venues draw deeply from regional architectural languages.
The Main Stage, inspired by Himachal Pradesh’s Kath Kuni design, hosts cultural performances, theatre, culinary showcases, workshops, and evening concerts spanning classic rock, indie, fusion and electronic music.
The Conversations Stage, framed by original artworks from renowned Ladakhi contemporary artist Jigmet Angmo, sets the tone for discussions on textiles, ecology, tourism, mountain heritage and community storytelling.
The Ritek Pavilion, designed by Vishal K. Dar, reinterprets Arunachal Pradesh’s traditional Adi communal structures into a contemporary space for reflection, film screenings and community dialogue.
Unfolding across interconnected pavilions within Travancore Palace, the 2025 edition offers immersive installations, performances, workshops, culinary journeys and community-led programming. Riders will also participate in the Celebration Ride, underscoring Royal Enfield’s Social Mission — its long-term commitment to partnering with 100 Himalayan communities and inspiring one million riders to explore responsibly.
The festival runs until 10 December 2025, offering audiences a rich tapestry of material and cultural innovation, heritage, sustainability, and artistic expression.
