10TH MANIPAL RANKA INTERNATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION HELD AT FACULTY OF LAW, MANIPAL UNIVERSITY JAIPUR
 
Jaipur, 13 November : The 10th Manipal Ranka International Moot Court Competition -2024 was successfully conducted recently. The event was graced by many domain experts and student participants across India. The enthusiastic participants competed with eloquent arguments, intensive research and creative advocacy on a contemporary theme, i.e. International Commercial Arbitration. The event began with a vibrant Inaugural Ceremony. A panel of distinguished guests comprising of Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice S. Ravindra Bhat, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India; Guest of Honour, Hon’ble Justice Alok Sharma, Former Judge, Rajasthan High Court and Guest of Honour, Dr. Manoj Kumar Sinha, Vice Chancellor, Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur graced the occasion and gave meaningful insights.  
 
The Valedictory ceremony was conducted with the graceful presence and address by esteemed Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice M N Bhandari, Chairman, Appellate Tribunal SAFEM Act, 1976, and Former Chief Justice, Madras High Court. The ceremony was further enriched with presence and address by the Guest of Honour, Justice Ashok Kumar Gaur, Former Judge, Rajasthan High Court; Special Guest, Ranjit Singh Kumat, retired IAS officer and Guest of Honour, Dr. Amar Pal Singh, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow.
 
The eminent speakers emphasized embracing this opportunity to learn, grow, and excel as future legal practitioners and demonstrate not only knowledge and skill but also unwavering dedication to the ideals of justice, fairness, and truth. The teams of National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU, Bhopal) and University Five Year Law College, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur powerfully argued in the final round. In this competition, the team comprising NLIU Bhopal secured first position as the winner. Nikhil Bhargava and Yashotma Singh from NLIU Bhopal also won Best Speaker and Best Researchers awards.
 
The event was honored by the esteemed presence of members from the Ranka Public Charitable Trust, including Smt. Urmila M. Ranka (Chairperson), Mr. Justice J.K. Ranka (Vice-Chairman), and Mr. Siddharth Ranka (Secretary). A big appreciation is due to the sponsors Mithesh Rathore, from JRA Legal Solutions and Ajatshatru Mina from ASM Law Solutions whose support contributed towards the successful conduct of the event. In attendance were distinguished leaders from Manipal University Jaipur, including Dr. N. N. Sharma, President and Dr. Nitu Bhatnagar, Registrar whose presence and address added to the prestige of the event. The moot court competition was successfully organized under the mentorship and guidance of the Dean, Prof. (Dr.) Bharti Kumar along with Department Heads, Dr. Sony Kulshrestha and Dr. Sonu Agarwal and a very dynamic team of faculty and students. The University looks forward to the conduct of more such competitive events and imparting practical legal training to future lawyers, and judges.
