Dosti Thane Half Marathon Season 4 Draws 5,173 Runners

Thane (Maharashtra) [India], December 9: The fourth edition of the Dosti Thane Half Marathon, organised by Playfree Sports India (OPC) Pvt. Ltd., concluded successfully on Sunday with an impressive turnout of 5,173 participants. Built around the theme “Breaking Barriers, Building Champions,” the event transformed the city of Thane into a vibrant hub of fitness, resilience, and community spirit.

This year marked a major milestone for the event, as it debuted under its renewed identity—the Dosti Thane Half Marathon—following the onboarding of Dosti Realty as the Title Sponsor. Supported by Tip Top Plaza and Bajaj General Insurance as Co-Powered partners, the refreshed branding underscored a renewed commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, endurance sports, and inclusive participation across all demographics.

Participants represented a wide spectrum of the community: elite athletes, corporate teams, senior citizens, women runners, young participants, and first-time marathoners. Each category displayed exceptional enthusiasm, truly embodying the event’s vision of empowerment through sport. The 10 km race was officially flagged off by Thane Police Commissioner, Shri Ashutosh Dumbare, lending further significance to the occasion.

All runners received premium dry-fit T-shirts, exclusive finisher medals, post-race breakfast, and brand vouchers totaling over ₹1,000. Winners across categories were honoured with trophies, gifts, and special vouchers, which were presented amid loud applause and festive energy. The highlight of the celebration came when Ms. Priyanka Madane won a Harley-Davidson X440, adding a thrilling moment to the morning’s excitement.

To ensure safety and peace of mind, every registered participant was covered under event-day insurance by Bajaj General Insurance, reinforcing the organisers’ commitment to a secure running environment.
