VPRPL Completes Silchar 24×7 Water Supply Project

The project was implemented for the Assam Urban Water Supply & Sewerage Board (AUWSSB) at an approximate cost of ₹177.47 crore. Designed to provide a continuous and reliable drinking water supply to the city of Silchar, the project plays a crucial role in improving urban living standards and public health outcomes.

The comprehensive scope of work under the project included the development of intake systems, a modern water treatment plant, transmission mains, pumping stations, service reservoirs, an extensive distribution network, and household water connections. Water supply under the project officially commenced on March 1, 2024, ensuring round-the-clock access to potable water for residents of Silchar. The project was partially inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, underscoring its importance within the state’s urban infrastructure agenda. The executing authority has formally certified Vishnu Prakash R Punglia Limited’s performance as satisfactory, reflecting adherence to quality, safety, and execution standards.
